What makes a speed painter a speed painter? A speed painter is an artist who creates a complete, high-impact artwork in front of a live audience, typically in under five minutes. They combine traditional painting skills with choreography, music and showmanship to build tension, culminating in an unrevealed, dramatic final flip of the canvas!
Since speed painting often happens in as little as 90 to 300 seconds, speed painters memorize fluid brush movements and map out the composition using broad strokes, negative space and muscle memory.
